Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule

UPDATE (02 Apr 2016) – I reviewed Mizon’s Black Snail Cream on my other blog. Have a look!

I swear by Mizon Snail Repair Cream, and when a product works for me, I grab whatever comes in the same line. The Secret Key snail cream, toner (I do love the toner!), and serum worked great, but the cream is a little too rich for me.

In comparison, Mizon snail line works better for me. The snail cream not only brightens and evens my dull skin tone, it really ‘repairs’ old scars too. Now, if the snail cream is so powerful, surely the intensive ampoule will push the performance up many notches, yes?

[The Missy’s Say]

Texture:
Serum like – sticky and gluey

After touch:
The serum absorbs into the skin quite quickly, and I don’t find it sticky (but definitely more sticky than the cream). I apply the snail cream after the serum, so I really don’t have problem with the stickiness. Mizon snail cream absorbs to matt touch. (If you have oily/combination skin, I recommend that you skip the ampoule for the day, or it may be too rich under makeup)

**NOTE: On the product page, the seller recommends to use the snail cream, followed by the ampoule. I am not questioning it, but the ampoule is very much like serum, and a skin care specialist recommends to always use the serum before the moisturizer. So, I am going to go with the specialist.

SEQUENCE:
Cleanse -> Exfoliate -> Toner -> Serum -> Eye Cream -> Moisturizer -> Sunscreen

This is supposedly the right sequence. The moisturizer locks in the active ingredients of the serum and eye cream, hence the sequence.

Another tip: Eye cream is designed specially for the more delicate skin around eyes, it helps to hydrate effectively to reduce visibility of creases, including formation of wrinkles. Another part of the face that is equally sensitive and delicate is the skin around the lips. After dabbing the cream on the skin around eyes, and before the residue on the fingers dries, I apply it on the smile line and around lips.

Scent:
Unscented

Effects:

I haven’t been out often, but the recent change in lifestyle provides many opportunities to be out and about. One of the most commonly received comments would be that I am very fair. I am so fair that some people stared and had to repeat that comment several times throughout the brief encounter.

I don’t have good skin, and I scar very (uber!) easily. I went for a hair treatment (say, it’s a rescue mission to minimize the disastrous hair highlight two days before this visit), and I only wore Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream (quick sunscreen and basic coverage) and a light layer of Mac compressed powder (NC15) to set it. No eye make up and anything else. The stylist commented that my skin is very nice, and I am so fair (of course!).

So, I have to say that this stuff is working! I don’t have mega smooth complexion, but my skin has improved (still improving) rapidly over the course of weeks, now months. I don’t need to be fairer, but I had dull and uneven skin tones. Now, my skin looks even fairer only because the color tones are evened out and brightened.

What I like best:
Mizon snail repair cream alone is great, but undoubtedly, I am aging (who’s not!!), and I sleep in air-conditioned room at night. I would need a more powerful punch for nutrients. Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule does that. I wake in the morning to a well moisturized skin. Take nothing for granted, although I don’t have deep wrinkles yet, it’s probably good to delay it for as long as we could.

    1. The all in one cream is the moisturiser, the sequence is the ‘classic’ sequence for skincare regime. If you are also using the snail gel, it will be between the moisturiser (all in one cream) and sunscreen.
